All things Mexico - What hair?

Image
Anyone out there with a slight eye for fashion would by now have realized that all that aztec and peruvian stuff has gone a little bit further up on the global map..... and has moved to Mexico. Yes, everything Mexican is taking the place of our south american designs...from pretty embroidered dresses for the girls, to funky Mexican skulls inspired by dias de los muertos (day of the dead) for the boys.....and the girls too really! The Jewellery too is taking in the fiesta vibe - it's gonna be chunky funky - and most absolutely BRIGHT!! But with all this trend... how are we going to emulate that sexy senorita look without going horribly Ugly Betty? Of course the style can be paired up with boho waves. However if you really want to go for the whole Mexico vibe, why not look at probably the most iconic of Mexican women of all time - Frida Kahlo. The Mexican artist was born on July 6th 1907 in Coyocan, a suburb in Mexico City. She is considered to b

Going Straight - curls are out!!!! - hello again, permanent Straightening

It is the Hair-Trend everyone is talking about! Curls are out !!!- giving way to slick super straight hair..... and when we say straight we mean STRAIGHT.... no kink, no mess...just poker-straight silky shiny hair!! Time to dig out those straighteners, ladies: bin those 2-inch barrel curlers cause it is time to flatten, flatten, flatten.... big is beautiful, but when it comes to hair we're going size zero. And when it comes to beating the heat and getting that avant-garde nod it doesn't get much cooler than the wet-look summer trend. We've seen it all over the place at most fashion weeks like at Chanel, Alexander Wang and Mugler here... You will need some pretty strong wet - gel, or a glaze type of product. Always work the style on damp hair. If you want that half -wet half-dry look , you will need to dry the hair first, then with a spray-gun wet the front again, before applying products. You will of course need to make sure that does stay in place, so a super firm hold hair spray is also essential. Your next important accessory is of course gonna be make-up.....there is no hiding behind your hair with this style, so your make-up is of great importance. You can however go 2 very different directions,..keep it fresh and dewy for a natural a

The Hair Knot - Cooling-off summer nights!

Image
The Knot is pretty much the coolest easy but striking Hair-Styles for those Hot Summer Nights, when hair just gets in the way and your neck and shoulders have simply had enough . Keep it unruly, and un-tidy during the day for a casual look. At Night keep it slick and tamed - pair it with Killer Heels for maximum effect! Also don;t forget that exposed neck - adorn it with something amazing - like at Givenchy above x
