It is definitely here!..... you can see all those Xmas Jumpers popping out everywhere, we are inundated with Christmas Shop-o-phobia, charities for this and that...Christmas Puds and Mince Pies everywhere , yes that all-time-madness -  the Xmas Rush is here! I've always been one to get into a bit of a Xmas Spirit, though seeing Mince Pies stacked in October was a bit much.... let me at least go through Halloween in a spooky enough fashion.... Goblins and Elves are NOT the same thing!! Ok so I am not quite sporting a Xmas Jumper, yet. But I do secretly like them,... but considering my wardrobe consists of black, purple and grey...I think it might do a Narnia on me and be lost in no time! So, by now, surely -everyone  has seen the most vivid case of:  'let me channel my own personal self through a  c elebrity - onto the world!' Yes, I am of course taking about THAT VERSACE CAMPAIN! (yes there is a song on Gaga's latest offering Artpop  called 'Donatella') : We have a clear case of mutual love going on between the house of Versace and that of Gaga, and as much as I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Lady Gaga, I must say these images from the campaign are just stunning! - probably some of the best Gaga imagery I've seen out there! - Photoshop or not! Now Gaga does have more wigs than the National Theatre , but how do we really like her? Short, Curly, Sleek , Blonde, Dark??   - My pick remains what we see here, long sleek and ultra-blonde.... It's been a few good years now since the miracle worker that is the Brazilian blow-dry, the most exciting thing since the hair-dryer, was on everyone's lips...and heads! Then of course came the whole media HOOha over the ingredient:  Formaldehyde and everyone went FORMA-MENTAL!  - clients would be asking what was the percentage, if it had any, or worried how dangerous it was if they had it done already....were they gonna drop down and die!?! - basically scaremongering at it's best - which I always find this country excels at beyond any other European country! So as everyone was worrying over those formaldehyde fumes (which let's face it - it is the hair stylist that really needed to worry about breathing them in , rather than the client - hot air rises ...remember?) the EU throws in an acceptable maximum amount of formaldehyde in the product itself which was of course a lot less than the original ones that made it to our shores - and everyone was ready to breath

Someone once said there are a few milestones in life.... Of course you get your first birthday.... jump to your sweet sixteen...that 18th birthday party... followed swiftly by the 21st.... next you know you are creeping to your 30s!! - It actually does move quite fast looking back... While all of this is happening to you, your friends and counter-parts are going through the same thing... so the next thing you know those weird in-built alarms go off: Number One : 'The I need to get Married Alarm!' It really does seem that all of a sudden you do get in-undated with wedding invites... and as much as celebrating such occasions with friends is great, having about 5 of them a year - and in different countries - can be quite time-consuming and pocket-busting! 2013..... How are we feeling about this year? We are slowly plodding along through it... and whether we like it or not it will fairly soon draw to a close... can't  believe we are already in Halloween week!!- Not that I do have a problem with that... I love Halloween - it's like the a Goth's version of Xmas - without the sickly feeling of eating too much! ... in fact you are likely to have a quick diet to fit in some cat-woman suit or evil dominatrix get-up! ........................................................MIAO!! But not all Halloween stuff should be seriously scary - and that especially goes for your hair! We can have scary hair moments through most of the year, but Halloween night does not give you a licence for a bad hair day! - Keep your get-up scary but the hair Faaaabulous! We are still celebrating our Makeover page, and as promised we are back with some SERIOUS!! makeovers! This time we wanted to show how you  can turn someone from regular to HOT! - and in our case that means becoming a Hair Colour Clinic Model! We've got two very different makeovers.... let's roll with it... _________________________________________________________________ Case #1 -  From Dull blonde to a Glam Warm Blonde After years of high-lighting and a few D-I-Y touch-ups here and there  this blonde was looking more drab than Fab...  We settled to change her wishy-washy tired tones to a warm sandy blonde with high-lights and low-lights to give more dimension .  The result is a vibrant blonde ready for the colder winter months...... _________________________________________ case #2 - Warm Autumn Tones In this session we put out hands on some coarse and unruly Mediterranean hair.  We wanted to re-create the warm tones

We've all had a moment of  P.L.N - Personal Looks Neglect!! Usually it happens around BIG Momentous happenings in our lives.... It is that time of the year! - It's Fashion Week, when the whole fashion and Beauty world goes mental, where shoes are lost and dresses are misplaced, assistants screech, the stylist and the Make-Up Artist have a tiff - and someone is fired. Sounds like Devil wears Prada - but it's the truth. Luckily we can ignore the backstage and head to the catwalk where it all happens and dictates what's happening in the months to come, and boy do we have a choice to go through next year! whether you fancy Messy, Sleek , Colourful, Tribal Chic, or fancy yourself as a Bug! (yes really) - it was all there! One thing is for sure next Spring/Summer we are going to want our hair off our face!... the pony-tail is keeping it's rise as a firm favourite for next year's hotter months, with different variations to the 'easy-way-out' style, from the beautifully wrap version at Marios Schwab, the knotty one at Christopher Raeburn, or the semi-braid at David Koma. pony-tail
