Why Olaplex is your go-to range for healthy hair.

Olaplex has been with us for a number of years now.

At Hair Colour Studio we first came across Olaplex after seeing Kim Kardashian going blonde from her dark mane. How did she do it? We thought. The answer was Olaplex.

Admittedly it took some 7 sessions of bleaching alternated with Olaplex treatments - yes it is not for the faint hearted and would also cost a bomb - and ideally staggered over a few months rather than days to slowly go lighter. However this does not take away from the fact that this was a game changer!

But what is the science behind Olaplex?

Olaplex was developed by Dr. Eric Pressly and Dr. Craig Hawker, two of the world's leading chemists. They invented a single ingredient chemistry that is free of silicones and oils. Olaplex links broken bonds in the hair before, during and after chemical services.

Olaplex helps to push the envelope further by reconnecting the disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair, the treatment which is a 'bond multiplier limits damage to the hair during and after colouring.

When Olaplex was launched a few years ago it started with 2 simple (professional use only) steps.

It was shortly followed by the number 3 Hair Perfector, the retail version to top up your in-salon treatment to continue the benefits of Olaplex.
