Scary Night - Fabulous Hair!!! - The Halloween Edition

Image
2013..... How are we feeling about this year? We are slowly plodding along through it... and whether we like it or not it will fairly soon draw to a close... can't  believe we are already in Halloween week!!- Not that I do have a problem with that... I love Halloween - it's like the a Goth's version of Xmas - without the sickly feeling of eating too much! ... in fact you are likely to have a quick diet to fit in some cat-woman suit or evil dominatrix get-up! ........................................................MIAO!! But not all Halloween stuff should be seriously scary - and that especially goes for your hair! We can have scary hair moments through most of the year, but Halloween night does not give you a licence for a bad hair day! - Keep your get-up scary but the hair Faaaabulous! Here are some ideas..... Like most of your body (well, not always...judging by the last masquerade I've been to...) dress it up.... There are sooooo many wigs out there...

Makeover series: A Warmer Autumn!

Image
We are still celebrating our Makeover page, and as promised we are back with some SERIOUS!! makeovers! This time we wanted to show how you  can turn someone from regular to HOT! - and in our case that means becoming a Hair Colour Clinic Model! We've got two very different makeovers.... let's roll with it... _________________________________________________________________ Case #1 -  From Dull blonde to a Glam Warm Blonde After years of high-lighting and a few D-I-Y touch-ups here and there  this blonde was looking more drab than Fab...  We settled to change her wishy-washy tired tones to a warm sandy blonde with high-lights and low-lights to give more dimension .  The result is a vibrant blonde ready for the colder winter months...... _________________________________________ case #2 - Warm Autumn Tones In this session we put out hands on some coarse and unruly Mediterranean hair.  W...

P.L.N - is it time for a makeover? - 'Ombre Chiaro Scuro'

Image
We've all had a moment of  P.L.N - Personal Looks Neglect!! Usually it happens around BIG Momentous happenings in our lives.... Main Culprits of such raping to our ego and our looks in general are usually: No. 1 :    NEW BORN BABIES>>> yes those bundles of Joy that take up all our attention for the first days,...become weeks, become a few months, then a look into that mirror and it's - ARRRGGGHHHHH!!! - I have turned into Iggy Pop's ugly sister! Culprit No.2:  THESIS/FINALS/PHD's......... How many people have you met at the very end of their final year in uni, masters etc. looking fabulous? - None? -  Exactly.... Even that  immaculately looking student at Fashion Central that looks a bit like they have put together their outfit over 10 board meetings in the early hours of the morning with the house of GAGA, starts looking a bit like Xtina Aguilera in her 'No-Baby-NO Days!'..... ...... Not gonna go through other culprits ..I mig...

Braveheart, Ponytails and Bugs - It's London Fashion Week!

Image
It is that time of the year! - It's Fashion Week, when the whole fashion and Beauty world goes mental, where shoes are lost and dresses are misplaced, assistants screech, the stylist and the Make-Up Artist have a tiff - and someone is fired. Sounds like Devil wears Prada - but it's the truth. Luckily we can ignore the backstage and head to the catwalk where it all happens and dictates what's happening in the months to come, and boy do we have a choice to go through next year! whether you fancy Messy, Sleek , Colourful, Tribal Chic, or fancy yourself as a Bug! (yes really) - it was all there! One thing is for sure next Spring/Summer we are going to want our hair off our face!... the pony-tail is keeping it's rise as a firm favourite for next year's hotter months, with different variations to the 'easy-way-out' style, from the beautifully wrap version at Marios Schwab, the knotty one at Christopher Raeburn, or the semi-braid at David Koma. pony-tail...

First time Colour

Image
In this day and age a Hair Colour Virgin is just about as rare as a four-leaved clover! Girls (and boys) tend to have a bit of a dabble with hair colour at a pretty early age,... I can still remember my very much of an epic fail with my first D-I-Y colour when I was around 14 years of age!....little did I know then that I would eventually turn that into a career. However, some people really are reluctant with colour, and try to hang on to those natural tones for as long as they can - that is till those evil evil grey hairs start appearing! One of these rare creatures is Debbie. - Debbie is already blessed with gorgeous hair, and for many years we have been cutting styling etc,..but not a drop of colour. She was so petrified of losing her natural hair colour, that plucking at those annoying grey hairs was a more attractive option. After much nagging from yours truly, Debbie gave in - on one condition! the new colour would not change her that much, and be as close to her hair ...

Cutting your locks: When should Sasha loose her Fierce?

Image
Unless you were in a coma the last few weeks, you will know that the hottest topic out there when it came to hair was Beyonce 'cutting' her hair Short. Please do note the inverted comas on the word cutting, because essentially it was taking out her extensions and probably giving shape to the already, somewhat short hair. So before everyone starts to applaud the woman for the bravery think that it would be dead easy for her to get it all back tomorrow.. she settled for a long bob in the meantime.... This does not mean that she was not brave though, and even though 'Sasha Fierce' (that is her alter ego for anyone still in that coma) is looking more 'Bambi Cool'  -  changing an image to that extent  for any superstar is still a gamble - unless your name is Madonna of course! Madonna still remains the queen of re-invention - let's not forget with 30 years under her belt and a ridiculous amounts of looks that most importantly always worked (take note Ga...

Don't have the guts? - Fake it!!

we are already in August....can you even believe it?? Even though here in London it seems the weather has gone all Spring-Autumn Hybrid, we are still positively hot...while everyone else on this hemisphere is sweltering of course... As we seem to have started a bit of a series of heat-beating hair (see previous posts), we thought to throw in another one that can quite easily take you into Autumn or winter, because apart from being a beat-buster it can also be seriously chic, say hello to the Mock-Bob. The name says it all... it is a faux bob... it's achieving the look of a bob when you do not want to cut your hair - which becomes also a good and welcome alternative to the more severe up-do for those summer night elegant/red carpet events. Taylor Swift really has got the knack of this! Also known as a 'loop' the secret of a mock-bob is to pin your locks at the length you want your hair to be. Here's one from our team..... If you have ...
