Taking a New Direction: New Hair for Kim Kardashian, Cheryl and Zayn Malik.
OOh we have had a few celebs really going for it with their hair lately....
Starting off with the now Mrs. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini ..... so she has gone for the chop!
I actually quite like shorter hair on her, makes her look a bit fresher...and the masses of locks were looking a bit tired now - I'm all for less is more!- girls going overboard with hair extensions please do take note. - There is such a thing as too much hair - and it looks ridiculous!
But back to Cheryl....
I find celebrity endorsements for D-I-Y colour boxes just hilarious.... it started with seeing Kate Moss (many years ago) for some home highlighting kit - Can totally see her in her en-suite bathroom running the micro brush through her hair! shampooing and towel drying in her egyptian cotton best!
Equally Cheryl tweeted the colour , but at least she did not pretend to do it herself! - 'coz you're worth it!'
But then came the explanation that it was a 70's inspired look....
Now when I think 70s hairstyles....
Then I realised they were going for a less mainstream but more Rock n' Roll look, referencing a strong rock n'roll lady: describing the haircut as '70s Joan Jett texture'.
For anyone who does not have that reference clear in their head, Joan Jett in the 70s looked like this:
Maybe they got the decades a bit confused....

We also got Zayn Malik from One Direction causing twitter to go on meltdown after cutting his locks....
The first picture I saw, I was a bit horrified as it was a middle-parted Zayn,...looking very much like Nick Carter from the back street boys (whats going on with the 90s!!).....
But thankfully I saw the full extent of the haircut straight after! - and yes it does look good! - though when that hair is attached to such a specimen, one can't really go wrong!

But there is only one person that truly can break the internet..... this time though it wasn't her derriere the culprit....but her hair.... Ms. Kardashian has done it again!
So firstly we had this hideous pale yellow tone (extremely common result with asian hair).... with most of the folk on the internet calling it platinum.... (that is not platinum!) Gaga is platinum,,,,
so then it was corrected.... most likely bleached/toned once more....
I dare not imagine the condition of her hair....
Asian hair going blonde is pretty tough, and such complexions really should stay on warm browns..... I am pretty sure most people will agree she does look better with dark hair!
But on the other hand this is Kim Kardashian! - at the best of times she looks a bit like a cartoon character drawn by a hormonal 13 year old boy with an un-healthy obsession with Manga and Hip Hop 'Ladies' - so the un-naturality of it all kind of works in a weird way!
Now before all you Asian girls jump up to the idea of going blonde, let's also not forget that Ms. Kardashian also tends to have great make-up most of the time.... which takes a lot of work to be doing every day, but would be absolutely essential as the complexion naturally would not be the right shade to complement the hair colour, so the contrast needs to be created through make-up.
If we had to see a picture of Kim Kardashian with this hair without make-up you would understand.... but chances are we never will!
