Autumn 2015 hair trends

So we have tried to push the idea for as long as we could, but Autumn is very much clearly here and there is no turning back!

At least we got the Spookiness of Halloween to look forward to ... but as the most terrifying night of the year gets closer we need to make sure our locks do not take a scary shape past the 31st of October....

Here's a round up of the trends to keep you Glam not Ghoul this Autumn...

If you have been toying with the idea of a Fringe - this is the time to do it! - Apart from the fact that it is in fashion, Autumn is a good time for the fringe as unlike in Summer the chance of a sweaty forehead is far less likely, and it will keep your face a wee bit warmer from those gusty winds blowing leaves all over the place....

But the must have fringe is a lot more deconstructed than the super structured we have had in previous years.. it is a long fringe definitely past the eye-brows. It is a peek-a-boo fringe - it is choppy and a bit dishevelled, it is part boho part-rock chick..... it's Goldie Hawn meets Kate Moss...

Talking about Boho (That's Bohemian for anyone not into abbreviations) if you did get into the trend that has been with us for a good few years now, and can not move away from it - fear not as it is very much here to stay,..Boho  waves, clothes, the works.... This is from a shoot we had last year for www.likemary.com

if your waves are looking more BooHoo :( than Boho.... invest in a Wand  - not a Hogwarth's one of course ..... there is no Hairy Potter going on here......

Wands are easy to use , yes maybe you will burn your fingers a few times till you get used to it but once you master it you'll be twiddling your fingers in those locks faster than you could say Dumbledore 3 times!

If you are ready for a bit of colour - Autumn earthy tones are always a sure bet at this time of the year, but while in previous years we have simply gone for a warmer tone, this year the trend is to pair it with some very soft highlights to brighten up the base colour - giving a softer yet brighter finish to the hair....

If you are already blonde give it the warm treatment by going for a Vanilla/Buttery blonde as sported by Miss Paltrow.

Even the the darker blonde tones that have been everywhere this summer are getting the warm treatment shifting to Caramel and Gold undertones..... dare we call it Caragold?

If you are tempted to go Red but only ready for a little hue rather than going all Jessica Rabbit, a shade of Strawberry Gold might be your winning shade...

Do However bear in mind that this shade of  Strawberry will need some regular toning and possibly coloured shampoos to keep it fresh or it will simply look like an old faded colour - High Shine is a must.

Brunettes are having the golden treatment too, but that is basically sticking to the bronde tones which were so popular this summer - just warmer...

....If you are feeling really brave and bold though you can go for Pastel tones which are still hugely fashionable....

Pink,

Teal and Lavender

and an Aqua version we created at the salon.

Needless to say though Pastel tones are not for the faint hearted, and the up-keep is pretty heavy. But if you are after turning heads..... this is a sure shot!

If you are not quite ready for the whole street staring at you but there is a fire in you that needs to come out, go for the tone that spells Autumn like no other! - Russett Red!

Coloured hair or not, one thing we should all be doing with our hair this Autumn/Winter is braiding it!

with so many ways of doing a braid pulling your hair back should incorporate it.... besides hair always looks so much neater and gives it a cooler and more fashiony chic look.

As mentioned in our previous blog, the braid/twist combo is going to stay strong this Autumn, this is still our favourite - quick and easy, it is an effortless instant glam look.

(Read how to do this on our previous episode:  http://www.haircolourclinic.com/#!blog/cj9/post/1263206191034784066

That should have you covered for this Autumn......

If you are confused with what to pick - as always - speak to your stylist - they will surely have an idea or two.....

In the meantime....

Happy Halloween!!
