Xmas time is Party Time!

Where did 2015 go?

Can you believe we are less than 5 weeks away to Christmas - well we are!

This is usually the time when we start with our festivities dilemmas - putting together your party season looks. So we take a look on the high street, we take a look online, and sometimes, just sometimes we find just what we are looking for.

After that it is what make-up,... and then it is 'What am I gonna do with my hair?!?'

Because let's face it you can have the dress, the shoes the make-up but if that hair is not looking right the whole look falls apart!

So here at HCC we decided to round up for you the best and most current party hair for the coming season:

Whether it's a red carpet, a black-tie event or you just really want to make a glamorous entrance nothing does that trick better than some old hollywood waves:

but while people think that this style works only with long hair, it can look just as great with shorter bobs and mid-lengths - where you will be channeling the ultimate icon of old hollywood glamour as it would give you a Marilyn, and if you are already platinum Blonde maybe it might be time to look for that flowing white dress  - and perhaps a street air vent too once you are at it! ;)

If you do decide to try doing this hair yourself, the best way is to use tongs rather than wands as you want the barrel of those tongs to be the same diameter all the way as opposed to the conical shape of  a wand which in turn is of course great for natural looking loose curls.

Waves make a good solution for anyone who would not be quite ready for an updo.

But if you are happy with your hair up, that automatically makes things a bit more special, perhaps a bit more formal at times, but if you are comfortable with your hair up what better time to do this than during the Xmas season!

Do not forget that there is not just one type of up-style - the classic updos of course will work better at a more formal event..

But not all up-styles need to look formal, the messy somewhat casual versions work in so many ways as they are very versatile and make them appropriate for just about any celebration from the black tie event to the Xmas party to the club after!

If you are still happy rocking a braid through winter then an updo incorporating one works wonders, but be careful what outfit you pair it with as it will look great with anything boho, or somewhat retro but would not be the best look for a glitzy blingy number,

However if you wanna be super on-trend this party season the way to go is to have a pony-tail. Even though a lot of us associate ponytails with an easy way out on a bad hair day - the once casual look has taken on a glamorous identity and has clearly been happily adopted by many a celebrity this year!

With so many ways to interpret the trend there surely must be a ponytail for all...

The trail blazer is of course the fashiony pulled back tight and sleek,

The high ponytail is ideal if you are a bit of a rock chick or you will be wearing anything incorporating leather.... or hell why not - maybe even Latex! (surely there must be an Ann Summers Xmas party!)

But the ponytail does not necessarily need to be severe it can be a bit more casual and fun too...as Kate Hudson clearly showed us earlier in the year...

The best part of a ponytail is that you can also totally fake it! (ask Rita Ora!)

and with so many options out there you can even go for a splash of colour this Xmas!

Not quite to do with hair, but pretty important with the party season....

Sadly we tend to be pretty pasty during the winter months - and unless you are going for a Smurfette look, losing a bit of that blue-tinge (or green if like myself you have olive skin) - putting some colour on your cheeks is a bit of a no brainer.

Last week we had the pleasure to be at the launch of Skinny Tan at the Light Lounge in London.

Nikki Grahame and Austin Armacost being naughty...

We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Kate Cotton (who was lovely) and we proceeded to try the product the day after.... and tah dah! - I looked alive again.... if you are after a self tan to go with that party dress look no further than skinny Tan.

Merry Xmas all!!
