MET ball and the supersonic...

Sunshine does happen in London! - we had a whole week of sunshine! - who would have thought - let's just hope that that holds on!

It was also a week that saw Celebs on the other side of the pool head to the MET Gala, and as you may remember from previous blogs, we do like to take a look at what happens on this uber-stylish and sometimes somewhat oddly themed night

This year's theme, courtesy as always from chair-woman Anna Wintour was: 'Manus x Machina: Fashion in an age of technology' -  a theme that left plenty of space for the celebrity's imagination (or rather their stylist's).

So we had bondage tape , silver foil, dark make-up, hair towers.... well in a nut-shell it did not disappoint....

The Metropolitan Museum of At Costume Institute Benefit - better known as the MET Gala started in 1948 by publicist Eleanor Lambert, it was then simply called the Costume Institute Gala,
The star-studded night attracts some 600 invitees, you can buy a ticket for around a speculated  $25,000 but ultimately Anna Wintour has the last say on who attends and who does not!

I think we have to start with the person who totally killed it on the night, and that has got to be Ciara!
Check out the look Fashion and Technology realness!

Beyonce was looking Sleek and somewhat demure this year - but those cat eyes made her look part feline part Manga Cartoon  - great look

Kristen Stewart's slightly punky but Chanel-clad rebellious teen look worked a treat too! The grungy roots, peroxide hair teamed with metallic eyelids - genius!

On our blog last month we mentioned Taylor Swifts bob on the Vogue Cover - here she has gone for a  vampy look with this dark lipstick.

Oh Katie Katie - what the hell is this? - Looking like the bastard lovechild of Moira Orfei and Elvira she could have easily passed as a doctor who villain....

But if you thought Katie was hair-raising  - check-out Lupita!

But we loved Rita Ora looking great with this simple Chignon embellished with some mirror appliques.

Another show stopper for us was definitely Zendaya in this Michael Kors number... but that hair, that hair is everything! top marks!

Gonna round this up with another 2 show stoppers but sadly not for the right reasons - both women we love but when they do not get it right - it is to an epic proportion!

Though having to choose we will choose Madge anytime!

Now unless you went off the grid for the last few weeks you should have come across the little piece of news that is promising to revolutionize the hair dryer.

Dyson - yes those of the vacuum cleaners and stylish fans have put their eyes, hands ,..and brains clearly set on your hair dryers - and came up with something that looks rather great.

The design is cool albeit a bit weird having a hole in the middle - but being dyson we have come accustomed to that with the fans having a similar shape.

But this hair dryer is dramatically lighter than your average model as the big motor that used to make the appliance heavy has now been replaced with a much more smaller part which fits in the handle!

This also allows this hair dryer to be a lot quieter than your regular one. It has 4 heat settings as well as 3 speed ones.

The project took 4 years, 103 engineers, some 1000 miles of hair to test on, and a cost of £50 million...

As a professional hair stylist it looks a bit too small for my daily use and heavy blow-drying and styling, (though I would happily be convinced otherwise), but for home daily use this looks like a great new tool, which apart from making drying your hair easier due to its lighter body, it also promises to reduce the damage on the hair with clever heat adjusting technology.

The snatch is at a price-tag of £299 this is quite an investment to replace something that did the job at a fraction of the price!

We are gonna have enough time to ponder if we want one or not, as the Supersonic has just been launched in Japan, but will not be here in the Uk till June, and a bit later in September in the U.S.
